Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our exceptional teacher, Miss Anderson for not only teaching and guiding me, but for truly inspiring me to be my very best.

Your passion for teaching and dedication to your students is second to none, and I am confident that all your students, including myself, will take away many significant life learnings from your teachings. These learnings have prepared us for the real world and will stay with us forever. Furthermore, they will have a real and even greater impact on our choices, decisions and actions we make throughout the course our lives, both personally and professionally.

Where to begin? Well, there is an abundance of knowledge gained through our lessons, in fact, over 220 – 260 concepts each term. That’s a lot of information.

There is much valuable information that I will take away, however if I were to sum up in 6 words today, I would say that the most significant learning concepts would be that of: honesty, assertiveness, emotional self-control, humbleness, kindness, and respect.

One concept that really resonates with me is that of resilient optimism. In life, we all face the good and bad times, however so many situations can be seen as either positive or negative. Instead of seeing a situations problems or disadvantages, I like to choose to see its opportunities and benefits. Optimism is a choice, to assume positive intent and the best in people and situations. This is how I am going to choose to live my life moving forward.

One of the post powerful lessons for me was when we looked at a list of 50 of the most famous people in history – from Albert Einstein to Charles Darwin, Bill Gates, Winston Churchill and Steven Spielberg and how they all had multiple failures before becoming successful in their own right. We explored the concepts of determination and commitment to constantly improve and do better. They followed their dreams and made them a reality.

I also enjoy the inspirational weekly quotes provided by Miss Anderson – the standouts for me are as follows;

“A true leader is one who is humble enough to admit their mistakes”

“The strong man is not the good wrestler; the strong man is only the one who controls himself when he is angry”

“Being both soft and strong is a combination very few have mastered”

Finally, a thank you to all my peers. It’s been great getting to know you all and spending Monday evenings for the past year together. And a big thanks to mum and dad for bringing me to class weekly for the past year.

Good evening and good night!
