Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, Firstly I will give a special thanks to my parents for taking me to Longford and Fraser which I am very grateful for, so thank you so much. I Would also like to thank my peers who putting up with me trying to sell them treats or lollies for their play money all the time, I also want to give thanks to Miss Anderson for being a Kind and enthusiastic teacher every Monday at Longford and Fraser.

Now I will go into a little bit of detail of what I liked about Longford and Fraser. My favourite lesson goes to week 1, term 2 where the 2nd key point of the lesson was “hard things first, fun things are my reward”. These simple words are the embodiment of a strong work ethic. This is saying do not treat yourself when you have not done a difficult task. Examples are a workout, run, cardio or anything that takes a determined an self-disciplinal effort exerted. A good work ethic is crucial to achieving dreams in life, so this is knowledge I would hold onto for the rest of my life.

A lesson I would take with me for the rest of my life is to have a critical thinking mind. This is a mindset Miss Anderson engraved into all of us boys at Longford and Fraser. My interpretation of this was to enact personal agency over my choices and use the virtues of Longford and Fraser, Resilience, Assertiveness and Mental Strength.

The atmosphere in Longford and Fraser was a rapidly changing one I would describe it as. This is because there was always different questions, topics and activities happening leaving you always unprepared forcing you to be a critical thinker and deal with it the best you can for each question, topic or activity. As you would be able to tell this atmosphere much reflects how life is, because most of the time you are unprepared but must deal with it or solve a problem and when you do there is always another one, and some people are going to have, easy or difficult problems to overcome. The problems you get as well as how you deal with them is what defines a person’s character.

I believe honesty is the best policy so that is why I will give and honest answer on how I felt coming to this course. I already knew I was going to be forced to go but when I got there, I thought this. I have been enrolled into a boys cult which also serves as an obedience school which is just disguised very well and labelled “Longford and Fraser, Leadership Academy for boys.” But now even if that could possibly be true, I would not trade the world for the valuable life lessons I have learnt at Longford and Fraser.

So now I know I am safe to say that I overcame my fear of doing new things and I am very glad I did.

The leader I most aspire to be like is Abraham Lincoln and here is why.

This is because I learnt that he was a slave on a plantation who said to himself he was going to do the impossible because he had an unbelievably strong discipline and apsiration to be great. With these characteristics he was able to go from slave to lawyer and lawyer to the president of the United States Of America said to be their greatest leader ever.

The qualities we need that Abraham Lincoln has was his character that was developed by his problems, they defined him to one people believed worthy to lead them and a country to success. Many leaders in the world today not all, simply have had it to easy and lack a character that can lead a country and the people within it.

Finally Ladies and Gentlemen Good evening and Goodnight.
