Alon Elboher, aged 12, Valkstone PS

Good evening, everyone, my name is Alon Elboher and I want to share with you the true meaning of the quote “Don’t be stuck in the waiting room of life”. This quote is a call to action, a reminder that we should never wait around for opportunities to come to us. We must create opportunities and take charge of our lives.
To achieve this, three key concepts from this class have helped me tremendously. The first is to never be a doormat. We must assert ourselves and take control of our lives. We should not allow others to walk all over us; instead, we should be leaders, take charge, and be heroes. Not being a doormat to me is making yourself heard, don’t be a shy person and present yourself to the world.
The second concept is taking responsibility for our choices/actions. Ways we can do this is by, making informed decisions by taking the time to gather information and consider the potential outcomes before making decisions. Another way is taking initiative and leading by example.
The third concept is self-respect and perseverance. Ways we can persevere is by
maintaining focus. Staying focused on the end goal, even when faced with distractions or setbacks. Another way to persevere is by adapting to change and being flexible and adaptable in the face of shocking changes or problems. Celebrating achievements, taking care of physical health and prioritising well-being are some examples of self-respect. Practising all those concepts will help us all not to be stuck not in the waiting room of life.
I would like to thank ms Anderson for taking the time to make every class interesting, engaging and fun. And taking an interest in me and my development. And thank you to my parents
Good evening and goodnight.
