Terms and conditions

Terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the enrolment of your son as a student of LONGFORD & FRASER Leadership Academy for Boys and by submitting an enrolment form and/or attending class, both you and your son agree to abide by them.

If you do not understand any part of these terms and conditions or have any concerns, please contact Melissa Anderson, Director by email: info@longfordandfraser.com.au before enrolling.

Classes

Week 1 of each term corresponds to Week 1 of the Victorian School Term schedule.

Advance notice, where possible, will be provided of any changes to location or class times.

We would be grateful if you would advise us in advance of a student’s non-attendance.

A student must attend a minimum six weeks of an eight week term module (75%), to be entitled to graduate.

If three weeks are missed, a private makeup class can be attended (at your cost) to remain eligible to graduate. Private session bookings are made online.

If four (+) weeks are missed, the Module must be repeated in the consecutive year (at your cost).

Enrolment

Our curriculum is structured such that a student can commence and/or conclude the curriculum in any term.

Each term is independent and discrete.

Our 32-week curriculum does not run via the calendar year.

Enrolled students are given priority enrolment for subsequent terms assuming payment is made by the strict deadline (the Sunday in Week 7 of each term).

Graduation Ceremony

In order to graduate and receive their completion certificate, a student must attend the graduation ceremony in Week 8 of each term. If attendance is not possible a request in writing is required.

Where a student is graduating with their Junior Ph.D of Leadership and is unable to attend their scheduled graduation ceremony, that student is required to attend the graduation ceremony the following term.

A student is expected to conduct themselves at the graduation ceremony with self-control, self-respect and professionalism at all times. These strict guidelines are regularly reinforced in class and prior to the ceremony. Failure to adhere to these behavioural standards will result in immediate expulsion.

Standards of behaviour: Students

LONGFORD & FRASER expects the same standards of behaviour for students as required by education institutions including:

  • being punctual
  • acting with kindness, respect and friendliness towards staff and students.

Disruptive, rude or inappropriate behaviour is not permitted and a strict policy of no mobile phones applies during class times.

We reserve the right to decline or terminate an enrolment if:
(a) we deem a child not sufficiently mature to gain benefit and/or contribute positively to the classroom, or if their behaviour (or their parents’ behaviour) adversely affects the classroom environment, the safety or well-being of our teaching/administrative staff or the learning outcomes for other students.
(b) any behavioural issues which may affect the learning environment for other students are omitted from the enrolment form. These behavioural issues may not involve a formal diagnosis, however, if one is known or suspected, or observed by teachers (school or extra-curricular) or current carers, then full disclosure is requested.

In either circumstance (a or b), no refund will be provided.

Poor behaviour is contagious and deleteriously affects the learning environment. We choose not to tolerate such behaviour. As a leadership academy, our standards are strict and demanding of excellence.

Standards of Behaviour: Parents

Life is a challenge for everyone and we all have days when we are not our best selves. However, we will not tolerate any behaviour or written or verbal communication that we perceive is threatening, abusive, disrespectful or causes any staff member to feel unsafe. If this occurs, your child’s current and/or future enrolment will be immediately terminated and, if applicable, no refund provided.

Contact details and medical information

You agree that LONGFORD & FRASER may obtain medical assistance for your son if required and you indemnify LONGFORD & FRASER and its staff for any expense, loss, damage or liability of whatever nature resulting from arranging such medical assistance. You must inform LONGFORD & FRASER on the enrolment form if your son has any pre-existing medical conditions or allergies.

You must inform LONGFORD & FRASER of any change of contact details while enrolled, including emergency contact information and medical information.

Term Program Fees

Tuition fees must be paid upfront, in full before the commencement of each 8-week term.

Due to demand for places, the deadline to make payment to confirm your place in subsequent terms is strict. You will be advised of the deadline in Week 4 (hardcopy, attached to the Parent Lesson Summary) & in Week 6 by email. The deadline is the Sunday prior to the commencement of Week 8.

Failure to adhere to the deadline will result in your place being offered to the next family on the waiting list.

You then have the option to (re)join the waiting list in chronological order.

Please note, any fees paid are not transferable to another program or service (including Individual/Family sessions) and we do not provide credits.

Students who are unable to attend a class will not be entitled to any refund of tuition fees.

Junior Resilience and Confidence Masterclass Fee Policy

Please note: In taking advantage of the “Enrol two students and pay for one” offer, you agree that in the event one of the pair is unable to attend in the particular term in which they enrolled, that both students will need to move to a new term. You acknowledge and agree that the two students are enrolling in the same class, in the same term, as a pair.

Regarding payment for the “Enrol two students and pay for one” offer:

Step 1: Each family submits an enrolment form.

Step 2: One payment in full is made. One family reimburses the other family their 50% share of the fee. We do not accept part payments.

Food Consumption

Term Program:

Food is not served in the term program, but class competitions may award prizes and on rare occasions – for example, a student’s birthday – sweets/chocolates/biscuits/cakes may be offered or brought from home. Where reasonable, staff are made aware of allergies listed on the student enrolment forms.

LONGFORD & FRASER is not liable for any adverse reactions to food/drink consumed or items a student may come into contact with in the LONGFORD & FRASER classroom or while eating food brought from a student’s home. Students with food allergies attend any of the LONGFORD & FRASER programs entirely at their own risk.

School Holiday Program:

As part of the LONGFORD & FRASER School Holiday Program, students will be provided with food and drinks during classes. However, we are unable to cater to students with specific dietary requirements or allergies. Parents/guardians of such students must expressly list all special requirements or allergies on the enrolment form and are also responsible for ensuring that their children bring appropriate food and drinks to all Holiday Program classes.

LONGFORD & FRASER Leadership Academy for Boys is not liable for any adverse reactions to food/drink consumed or items a student may come into contact within the LONGFORD & FRASER classroom or while eating food brought from a student’s home. Students with food allergies attend the LONGFORD & FRASER School Holiday Program entirely at their own risk.

Consequences of breach

Compliance with these terms and conditions (and the reasonable directions of the staff of LONGFORD & FRASER) is important and any student (or parent) who breaches these terms and conditions (or whose behaviour is otherwise deemed unacceptable by LONGFORD & FRASER) may have their son’s enrolment cancelled with no entitlement to a refund.

Change to these Terms and Conditions

Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be published on the LONGFORD & FRASER website.
