Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
I’d like to start my speech by thanking my parents, who are my biggest supporters and provided me this opportunity.
When my parents first told me that I had been accepted into the Longford and Fraser leadership program I didn’t know what to expect or feel.
I thought that maybe I wouldn’t have many friends in the class or that I wouldn’t find it beneficial, but I couldn’t be more wrong.
I’ve made great friendships with people whose views or ideas are different to mine, and I think that’s what makes Longford great. It widens my perspective.
It has conditioned me to adapt and thrive in the real world. I’ve loved games of unfair marbles, games of true and false, noodle fencing and self control games.
Ms Anderson is an incredible teacher who encourages us to challenge ideas, think outside the box and make decisions for ourselves. She tells us not to be sheep by following the herd.
The skills learned in Longford and Fraser have helped mould me into a better man who will make smart choices….. or at least that’s what my parents hope has been achieved!!
My Monday evenings have been fun and I will take the lessons learned with me through the rest of my life.
Thank you, good evening and goodnight
